Shore Antique Center Opens New Location
After
18 years in Point Pleasant Beach, Shore Antique Center has
moved to historic Allenhurst, New Jersey, in a new 14,000-square-foot renovated warehouse located at 413 Allen Avenue. Chris Myer, founder
and proprietor of Shore Antique Center, and his wife, Rose
O'Connor-Myer, purchased the building in November 2007 and have done
extensive renovations to the former plumbing supply warehouse.
Shore
Antique Center features more than 40 merchants with a wide variety of
antiques, art, collectibles, and other items of interest. Some of the
exhibitors and vendors come from the former Point Pleasant Beach
location. Others are new, including Copper Kettle Antiques, celebrating
its 50th year in business.
The Myers will direct the center in
addition to operating their own gallery within it featuring 18th,
19th, and 20th century fine art and a wide array of collectibles. Rose
O'Connor-Myer is president of Art Research Associates, a fine art
appraisal service for paintings, sculpture, and prints of all periods.
The
building features open space, natural light from the original
skylights, and hardwood floors. There are three overhead doors and
loading docks located on various sides of the building for easy access
to move larger pieces in and out. Home delivery is also available.
Shore
Antique Center has plenty of parking and is located three blocks from
the beach. The borough of Allenhurst is known for its charming
Victorian homes, seven restaurants, and various shops.Hours are
currently 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and some evenings "by chance."
